What Does Thriving Actually Mean?
- Is it having a lot of energy?
- A body that functions well?
- Bowels that work properly?
- Emotional resilience?
- Lots of money?
- A big house?
- Fame?
The answer could be all of those things.
The interesting part is that not everyone would choose the same answer. Some people would choose health. Others would choose money. Some would choose family, freedom, purpose—or all of the above.
So what is the common denominator?
Choice.
Thriving is the ability to choose your life.
There are certain qualities that most people naturally move towards—things like happiness, connection, joy, peace and love.
Technically, those things are available at any moment. The challenge is not whether they exist, but whether there is enough freedom and capacity to choose them.
Having low energy restricts choice.
Having no money restricts choice.
Being stiff, sore and in pain restricts choice.
Being stressed, overwhelmed or burnt out restricts choice.
The more limitations there are, the harder it becomes to choose the life that is wanted.
When viewed this way, thriving becomes less about achieving a particular outcome and more about expanding the ability to choose.
It is a deepening connection to happiness, joy, peace and love through the evolution of choice.
Can someone be happy with low energy? Absolutely.
Can someone be peaceful without lots of money? Of course.
But when most people think about thriving, they are usually thinking about abundance. And abundance creates choice.
- More energy creates choice.
- Better health creates choice.
- More freedom creates choice.
- More resources create choice.
The more choice available, the greater the ability to create, grow, connect and live intentionally.
So thriving is not really about the money, the house, the energy or even the health.
They are all valuable.
But ultimately, thriving is having enough choice available to consciously create a life that feels aligned, meaningful and fulfilling.
